Miles out of his depth in L1 no idea why Revs dropped Goode after him and Pidge were solid at Wycombe last week
It’s like playing with 10 men with him on the pitch

Surely it's because Goode is incapable of playing Friday, Monday and Thursday?

And like it or not Pidge's lack of pace seems to be more of an issue this season. Definitely needs to play alongside a pacy CB.

Well, I assumed Sweeney was given the nod because we have four fixtures in 10 days and Goode presumably isn't up to that intensity.

I don't think he has been at his best this season and partly because that's difficult when you're not playing week in week out.
At his best I think he is a capable L1 defender.
On Goode, I'm not saying he isn't good, but I do think he's our most overrated player. But again it's his first year and has been in and out of the team so from the get go next season he might live up to the hype.
Happy with our centre back options on the whole.
It's the midfield/creativity and lack wingers/pace that concerns me the most.

White and Phillips can both see and pick a good forward pass. Kemp as a 10 can do it.
JFC is probably the best we have at it.
They dont do it enough. For whatever reason the risky sliderule pass isn't attempted. Coaching? Confidence?
It's not as if we have good pass completion stats to protect.

Revs interview would suggest they don't pick the final pass out whelit the numerous opportunities we create.
Could be confidence, they're just not good enough to pick that slide rule pass or don't see it in time.

Are you saying he’s Goode or not Goode enough?

Can only think "had"to play him given Goode has play quite a lot after the injury Possibly Sweeney will not now feature for us again and be released.

Sweeney signed a contract extension so won't be getting released.

Must have missed that announcement then as all I know is he signed in May 22 and at time length unannounced so assumed to June 25.

Two more seasons.
Smart.
Means we'll have him for the start of our L2 campaign season after next.
And some people say Revs doesn't have a clue.

Damn I was hoping he'd be gone in the summer. Feel like we won't be investing at cb, which is a concern.

If we have to prioritise where we spend any funds for transfers, I'd be happy to concentrate on other areas. 47 goals conceded compares favourably with clubs around and above us. Reading in 7th have conceded 52

Agreed. I'm reasonably happy with our 4 CB options, plus Luther as an emergency 5th.
(I don't know what deal Sweeney has signed, if he has signed anything. I omly said 2 years to make rhe sarcasm work)

Sweeney at best a Confrence player.Little co-codination.
Does not see danger .Cost the club more points than on the plus side.Very error prone.

Sweeney was one of the 12 players I detailed earlier in the week for whom we paid agent fees between Feb 24 and Feb 25, when he signed an extension just before the end of last season.
The length wasn't given so it may be possible it originally ended last season and was only signed for an additional year to the end of this season, however my understanding is that after Luther and Louis have signed new deals, we only have Butler, Smith and List out of contract this summer of those in our squad, and that Butler is the only one we are actively pursuing. So that suggests Sweeney has another year left.

So... Butler, Smith, List...
Who gets a new deal?
Butler clearly deserves one, and Smith for me, depending on a medical assessment.
List will do really well in the National League, or mediocre in L2.

I would agree with the club and offer Butler one, although not sure I want him as first choice anymore (a lot of goals have come that side this year, including yesterday) but not the other two. Our fans seem to love Smith for some reason but he will never get ahead of Luther and has shown the past two years that when we need him he cannot be relied upon to be available. List needs to drop down as with less pace he is far less threat and has shown time and again his finishing cannot be trusted. Served us well for many years, thank him for it, but time for both parties to move on. Something I would say for a handful of players but the others are under contract, so hopefully we sell them.

I keep hearing that Butler gets caught regular, but the difference between him and Luther is that Luther has cover in front of him whereas Butler doesn't
As was seen in the last home game most of the grass area in front of the JBT was empty, with majority of the play on the right.
Amount of time Butler had room to go forward the ball was always passed to the right,

If we had JFC perhaps this might have been lessened?

You usually know more than me on this but thought at least Pressley out of contract but there is a one yr option and same re Goode , plus who knows re Edwards. As mentioned before sometimes I just have to assume correct dates and club does not always say . Accept reasons for that

Wasn't including Pressley as he is out on loan and won't feature again for us regardless, but do believe he is indeed out of contract.
