Looks it to me. Doesn't happen often.
Why wouldn't you, they did so well last outing...

Imagine a cup final demonstrating more passion, commitment and tension than a dead rubber league match near the end of the season when we have nothing to play for.
MIND. BLOWN.

Precisely *because* it was a dead rubber.
No nerves. No jeopardy. So why not play with a bit of flair.
How are we going to perform when there *is* a bit of pressure? That is what concerns me a little for next season.
Revs talks about how professional, tight, competitive and determined the 'group' is, the work ethic and the bravery. The basic traits you need when it all comes on top in a bad run of form.
Are we seeing any of that the last month or so?

The vast majority of football fans fork out money for 10 years watching not the best entertainment, for that 1 amazing season. That's what makes it an amazing season.
We've only just had ours 2 years ago, plus first half of last season, so got a while of watching this football until we can expect to have another amazing one.
We have had a lot of decent performances this season to entertain us - the home game v Stockport was one of them for example

It isn't just Birmingham or Wrexham.
Huddersfield lost £15mil.
Bolton lost £11mil.
Barnsley lost £9.6mil.
Stockport lost £7m.
Wycombe lost £3.8mil.
Cambridge lost £2.6m.
All announced in the past week.
People need to seriously realise what we are competing against here. The football is dull and Revs seriously needs to offer up more entertainment and goal threat, but we NEED more of a dose of reality from our fans rather than pissing their pants and wanting us to buy these magical super player we cannot afford or sack our manager after every defeat.

Don't get me wrong, I thought last night was shite. But the 'Revs out' stuff is laughable. The same people who were adamant we were going down this season, where we're basically safe with the best part of a quarter of the season left

Like most fans on here, I would like to see a bit more excitement. For the most part we are lack lustre so an improvement on the playing side is definitely needed. If we can manage that and retain our mid table position then I would be pretty content with everything else.

Re: Match Fred

I thought we moved the ball around quite crispy, 70% pass success rate and decent possession first half.
But only in the first two thirds of the pitch.
Then we lost any intent. Kemp dropped very deep and ventured wide to get himself on the ball at every opportunity.
They should have been 2 up by HT at least and they weren't brilliant.
Second half the game was quite open with both sides getting forward more but only Stockport creating clear chances thanks to our lack of protection for the back 4, Charlie Goode being on a poor run of form/confidence and no-o e wanting to take an early shot.
At least we tried to change it up with 30 minutes to go, moving Reid central when Hanlan went off for List.
OK it didn't work.
Which begs the question why move Reid inside to replace Hanlan, he's either better than Hanlan, in which case start him there, or he's not, so don't rotate him into that slot.
I can understand changing shape and putting him up top *alongside* Hanlan for the last 30 when we were chasing, but not the rotation. Pick your best striker and replace him with a *fresh* one when he's tired, don't replace him with the out of form striker you've played wide all game because you didn't trust him to play central.

or replace Hanlan with wither of two centre forwards - Young or Appere
Young come on and played him wide, he is a centre forward not a winger

It's very reminiscent of Gary Smith with the 'look decent for 20 minutes, never get a shot on target' approach.
Last time we went there we just humped it long for 90 minutes and still lost by a goal less.

We have forwards that could all score goals but none seem to be able to score goals in this system. Do you try and find better forwards who are good enough to score in this system, or do you change the system to give them tap ins, headers in the box or opportunities shots from cut backs and knock downs.
Reckon it would be easier to do the latter than find a great forward who we can afford and is willing to come to us.
Or do you just keep doing the same and hope they get better at playing this way.

No idea, just assumed it was too complicated for me to understand, me being someone who just wants to play 442, kick the ball forward and down the wings and get crosses into the box. Far too simple. Revs has a much more complex system that players at this level don't have the football brains to carry out.
Seems to be pass it around, with Kemp being the "man". Whilst it makes Kemp look good the rest of the team have no clue / talent to play whatever the ultimate goal is.
It'll keep us up, so depends how much risk v reward everyone wants.

If the next 7 continue like this I'd agree. But we'll probably somehow win a couple and then everything will seem "ok" again.
It's what we do, look clueless and shit for a spell of games, then find some form, then go back to looking shit and so on. Enough to keep us in that 12th to 16th bracket.
If we played like we do some games all season then yeah, we be fucked.
