Match Fred
Views: 839
Can't find a lineup yet?
Referee is Will Finnie though, In his previous 30 fixtures, Finnie has shown 89 yellow cards, a single red card, and has pointed to the penalty spot on seven occasions.
Done more Championship than League 1 games ao should be decent, if a bit picky.

It was not a very enthralling match last night, even accounting for the weirdness of it being a Thursday evening. If we're basically playing for nothing, bar being slightly higher in mid table, why not loosen the shackles a bit?

To beat Pratley and co you need to turn up and be even bigger cnts than them. Not passive shyte for the first 45. This is something Steve Evans knows well. Once we got hold of them (literally) things were brighter.

Are we too 'nice' and 'honest' now, not enough of the dark arts?

Our 250th defeat in the EFL, so that's nice.
Yet another pathetic display where we never looked like scoring. We really need to move on from a host of players in the summer.

I feel a lot of this is on Revs. Why the fuck is Reidy and then Young towards the end of the game out on the wing putting crosses in the box?
Also, i'm sick of Roberts passing back to the full back instead of taking his man on. It's either a clear instruction from Revs, or he's extremely low on confidence which, are both on Revs.

Roberts could so easily have drawn the foul numerous times last night. Just run the channel and let the full back foul you… but no. Cut back, totally harmless pass (99% of our possession). Is he a bit of a bottler?
The players have said he’s the ‘best in the squad’. That must mean tekkers or whatever. Certainly not got a football brain. The times Kemp was completely isolated last night, it’s unbelievable Robbo and Reid were on the same pitch

Easily the most frustrating/annoying/underperforming/uninterested player in the squad.
And this is not a new development. I really think it is time he moves on elsewhere, for the sake of us and him.

He signed a new contract last June don't think announced but assume to June 26 as suspect he he would have left if only one yr.So we could be stuck.

If Hanlan plays it means 2 from Reid/Young/List/Roberts have to play wide, it's how we've played for ages, because of reasons.

Because of the obsession with square pegs in round holes.
All we want is shots on target, and the attackers running at defenders.

totally agree with you, story of our season is that we are not scoring as much, but we wont when we play strikers out wide with a lone striker
most of the teams play with 2 up with wide men delivering from the by line. We have the players to do that
based upon the fit and interested players who want to put some effort in, i would go with
Cooper
Sweeney, Goode, PG
Wilding, Thompson, King, Phillips, Butler
Appere, Young

On the Young point perhaps because perhaps we really have no LW presence all season.Edwarrds only real recognised one we signed him injured, JFC can do a job there we will never see him again. So we have to rely on LW crosses from Butler who himself has been out for spells.

Might not be that easy as at least Simpson and Freestone in contract.I would keep Freestone anyway plus Goode who I think we have a 1 yte option on.
EDIT King ok imo but on loan anyway

Well, we look every inch a side who hasn't played for a fortnight and who has nothing to play for. Cannot string a single pass together, with Goode looking exceptionally bad. Even Cooper looks dodgy as fuck.

Unless there’s a solid plan to sign Cooper then it’s time for TAH to be number one again. Need to make sure one of them is at the club next season. That’s more likely to be the one we actually own now.

We’re just shit really aren’t we?
Nothing about us.
No one who can put in a good cross. No one quick. No one who can beat his opposite man. No one strong. No one tall. No one who can hit one from outside the box. No one with instinctive positioning. No one who can finish. No one who can pass and no one on the bench with any tactical intelligence.

Yep. If we start conceding goals (as we are doing lately) then we are utterly fucked next season. And being without either keeper is a sure way to guarantee we start conceding more goals.

Jamie Reid is playing yeah? Never seen a more anonymous 45.
Too many balls from the back massively overhit by Goode, Pidge, Luther and Murphy. Giving away possession so cheaply so often.
Game is crying out for Edwards to pin their RW back a bit.
Only Kemp, Butler, Hnlan and Roberts really breaking sweat. And of those only Kemp and Roberts doing it with much impact.
Poor.

Second half looked a lot better, still not great but better.
Last 10 when we could be arsed to put some tempo and aggression into our forward play we looked half decent.
Ref was excellent.
