I'd give it to Joey Barton. He'd bring in a few right wingers.

Thought he was just absent himself whereas in the Richard Hill days he and entire squad were always in either the Anchor or The Ship Hitchin post training .In those we used North Herts College there

I'd love to see Westley back. Just because of the amount of piss-boiling in here would be able to power the whole of Stevenage

Historically, that either ends a) badly or b) Graham Westley.

I have a terrible feeling that Cuthbert just might have it in him. He talks more intelligibly than the current gaffer for sure.
But we will probably never know; Phil never goes for the internal appointment...

Just let our fans take it in turns to do one match each.
Clesrly we all know far more about it all than any professional managers who have done all their badges and played the game at a good level, plus it saves the constant merry-go-round of whether a manager should be sacked after every couple of matches without a win.

Not all professional managers, but certainly Revs.

I wasn’t saying he should be sacked just because we haven’t won for a few games—I was simply asking out of curiosity to see what names people would suggest.

Revs would be in demand! To be challenging at the top of the table would be amazing, however, most fans are realists. For us, mid table, avoiding relegation, would be deemed not too bad at the end of the season. How many clubs languishing near the bottom would love to be in our position?
Whatever way you look at it those struggling clubs would consider taking him off our hands to be in our position.

In the last four games 'our position' has looked increasingly false. We cannot afford to lose on Saturday.

How is the position false? The league table is sorted based on the number of points gained

I'd say precarious rather than false, but I've always been of the opinion I don't much care about the number on the left, it's more about the difference in points on the right.
Earlier in the season we were about 5 or 6 places clear of relegation but only 4 points off it. That worried me. People saying you'd take 16th at the start of the season.
So you can't just look at the position during the season and assume all is fine without considering the points difference. The position of 15th (or whatever it was) looked ok but not the points. If we were 19th but 8 points clear I'd have felt better about it.
Now we are both well clear in terms of points and position. As long as we have a 9 or 12 point gap I don't care if we are 13th or 18th.

12 points clear of relegation doesn't feel very precarious to be honest. We're just wildly inconsistent. Go on a very good run followed by a terrible one.

Re: If Revell was to leave

No that's what I mean, the points position isn't. The League position number on the left is. As in lose a game and you could drop a lot of places, but that's of no concern.

I saw Kevin Costner a few years ago. He was at the Ben Sherman shop in Berwick Street. He said a 12 point gap can become a six point gap in one day.

Re: If Revell was to leave

Having said that, I just looked at the table and actually we would have to have a 6 point swing to drop a significant number of places. I thought we were all a bit closer in the middle third, with the bottom 5 cut adrift.
So all is good.

Take this scenario...we are at the top, 19 points clear but we lose the last 6 games of the season. Thankfully we hang on and we still win the league...is that a false position? Should we hand the title to the second place team that perhaps won their last 6 games?

Since Boro have a habit of signing previous employees, I wouldn’t mind a spell under either Mousinho or Schuey. They wouldn’t come here now presumably, but if they were interested, I’d be happy to take them.
