Racist, homophobic or sexist?

What was the referee warning via Drackers for?
Apparently whatever it was it came from somewhere North end of the East Terrace just after Louis was fouled and the offenders wasn't booked.
Whatever, it'll cost us £££ as it'll be in the official's match report now. So well done fuckwits.

I've always discouraged politics on here. It's one sure way of falling out and creating divisions.
There are other things that might do the same but I think we are pretty good on the whole of keeping content relating to football or Stevenage. Not that I mind off topic stuff if it's light hearted / easy reading.
Of course in the off season when nothing is going on we don't mind more off topic stuff as long as it's kept pleasant.

Exactly . So I see that clip. It was a bunch of lads on both sides who both didn’t seem offended . Now perhaps people were .
Nobody wants racist , homophobic, sexist stuff . Turns out the first incident that a game was stopped this year if the above is correct was for none of those reasons .
I think all people on one side of this argument are saying is let’s not call people out when you have no idea what has happened.

But nobody WAS called out! It was a general comment to say that, if someone did say something in one of those categories, they were out of order. That is correct & nobody was named & shamed.
I don’t see the problem with the post & I agree completely.
I’m nearly 60. I’ve been going to football matches for over 50 years. I’ve only ever been at 2 games where the referee has stopped the game for comments and they were both by Stevenage fans.

Pedophile/nonce isn't homophobic
Also saw a Cambridge fan was unhappy with pedo chants being labelled as homophobic, said that the announcement was homophobic.

As previously posted Baldock , you have so far failed to say what was actually reported. You have claimed it was from the North but the ref clearly pointed to the south of the east stand. Drackers read a pre scripted response so you have failed to factually act on evidence and yet here you are doubling down. At no point has anyone stated what was actually said. The only factual abusive thing I have witnessed in this whole matter is you calling a fellow supporter a fuckwit

Sigh.
My OP asked what was said. I wasn't there.
But I know that the protocol enacted by the referee of stopping play speaking to the fourth official, calling the captains over and getting a annoy announcement made was specifically written to respond to discriminatory abuse and latterly tragedy chanting.
So it's a fair assumption that someone reported racist or homophobic behaviour no?
If the referee implemented it because someone called him an expletive cheat that would not be in line with the FA guidelines on the use of rhe protocol and would mean stopping matches every single Saturday across the country.
And I think you'll find I said it came from the North of rhe East Terrace, which is what I was told.

Spot on Steve . A voice of reason .
Now before Baldock lets his blood pressure get the better of him I just want to make my position clear .
The club need to be able to investigate withought it being made even more difficult by people jumping in here who don’t actually know the facts . Those that do need to come forward and help .
The person if they did shout something under the catagory called out by Drackers will be dealt with and named . I will happily lead them through the streets calling them out for the bigot they will have proven to be.
I have always called out bigotry when I see it and many will know on here of an incident with a high profile individual that proves that point.
Now let’s let the club do what they need to do and stop making it more complicated with Ill thought out posts.

Oh come in, it blatantly wasn't just in response to somebody calling the referee a bad name.
That delaying of the game, speaking to the steward to pass on a message, speaking to both benches, and speaking to both captains, along with the wording of the announcement is because of discriminatory language shouted out from the terrace. Which as had also been pointed out, isn't the first time such an announcement has needed making during a game and pointing out towards the terrace this season.
The announcement specifically said it was from the terrace and specifically warned against racist, sexist or homophobic language.

Because the protocol which was followed was written and introduced specifically for discriminatory behaviour.
And has never been used for other types of language/behaviour other than tragedy chanting, which doesn't apply to us or Posh.
And the warning specifically mentioned discriminatory behaviour.
(And the only person who said it was for calling the ref an expletive cheat was WASP who habitually stands at the other end of the ET to where Richie said whatever happened, happened, and was therefore reasonably likely to have been making it up.

There is context and evidence though. Otherwise I wouldn't have raised it.
All of the publicly available *evidence*, i.e.the protocol and the warning, (both of which are strong circumstantial evidence) on the balance of probabilities, supports my OP view that some fuckwit said something discriminatory and it'll probably cost the club a fine.
It's a football forum not a court of law. I haven't said anything that wasn't put in the public domain through the issuing of the tannoy warning.

I really shouldn’t reply because every time I do I get accused of living rent free in Balders’s head, which I probably am. I’ve also had a busy day which prevented an earlier posting. For instance, I cleaned the filters on my hoover, put my under crackers on a boil wash, looked out of the window and watched other people walking their dogs, kept checking Borochat to see how many times Balders logged on during his afternoon pastoral idyll to assess the latest situation vis a vis the OP (5 times), thought about having a beer with a friend (although I realised I drank all my beer last night and that I have no friends), and then cried while watching Warwick David get a lifetime achievement BAFTA. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I did find it funny (ironic even) that an ex-cozzer was telling us that it was unacceptable to be racist or misogynistic. But I welcome the message. So kudos to Balders.

I used to be a steward & unfortunately the majority do not have the authority to just throw someone out. We were told to discourage swearing and the ‘C’ word was banned. If someone used it you warned them & if they did it a second time you notified a supervisor who had the authority to eject them.
Any racist, homophobic or sexist insults should be reported to a supervisor where action would be taken.
This was about 7 years ago so procedures may have changed now.
