David Stockdale - Manager of Farsley Celtic
Farsley Celtic chairman left the club last night and been taken over by board of directors.
They currently don’t play at their home ground as they’ve abandoned it.
They lost 6-1 at the weekend against relegation rivals
Best of luck to him but the club looks like a shitshow

Karma for Bloomfield who deserted ‘his club’ which was not long after deserting CUFC.
Presumably money driven.
it’s a short career football management for most.

Most of that would go towards the new ground, no?
Still think the likes of Derby and Hull would hypothetically outspend Luton at L1 level.

And old rivalries renewed next season! (as they pass us on their way back to League 2 😁).
Edit: Apparently from below, there aren’t any old rivalries. I seem to remember some. Well, if there weren’t any, I’ll start some.

I really don't want Luton to go down.
Yes they have a lot of idiots.
But I like that they went up to the PL on a relative shoestring and don't spend stupid money.
I don't want to see them fall apart just as they're getting the new ground started.
It'll be all we sing about next season and the idiots will have a field day when we play them.

Valid points and I appreciate that there's no historical rivalry.
On the flip side, it's a local game which would get good crowds. Better than travelling down to somewhere like Plymouth on a Tuesday evening in November.

It'll be a bumper crowd, thats a positive true enough.
But the policing and stewarding bill, plus the security bill for future normal home games as a result of fans misbehaving Vs Luton (if they do) would eat into that massively.

Agree, I have never seen what the iso called rivalry is .Yes they have idiots but so do we, they just have a few more due to fanbase. I know a few of their real fans and they too can't see any issues between us .In fact they thought we start to get loans etc from them especially given the Ronnie connection.

Wouldn't we love to mirror their success on a low budget. I only have admiration for Luton Town. It is a really well run club, refusing to spend above their pay grade. For the sake of their loyal fans, who have been through dark times, I hope they stay up.

Luton a well run club? Think where they could be now if that were actually the case. Of all the basket cases they got more deductions and fuct people over even more than clubs like Pompey

How can anyway say Luton isn't a rivalry, given the proximity? Beating them is so much more satisfying than even beating sides like Cambridge.
100% in the top 3 clubs I would most want to beat, especially because their fanbase has more than your average number of absolute bellends.

Certainly when we are in the same league there is a rivalry, like when we were both competing for the conference. Wasn't much history then but it was a local game and rivalry for the same prize. But we shouldn't obsess over them, especially when they're one or two divisions above us, generally.
It's like Notts County thinking they have a rivalry with Nottingham Forest when Forest probably don't give them a second thought and more interested in Derby, for example.

Whenever a club goes bust it's always the fans that suffer. Kettering, Halifax, Macclesfield to name but a few.
Hard to imagine what it would be like without our club, so would never wish that on any other club.

They currently don’t play at their home ground as they’ve abandoned it.
This isn't strictly true. The outgoing chairman had said he was to replace the pitch over the summer with a 4G surface, claiming the Celts would only have to play away until mid-September. So, their fixtures were arranged thus for them to play away.
Then nothing happened much. The old surface was torn up and the ongoing delay in the new surface going down has been blamed on external contractors. So, there was an arrangement to play home games at Bradford Park Avenue – but that agreement came to an end for reasons I'm not all that sure about. Buxton was then positioned as the only viable alternative until they could return home.
Less than 10 season tickets have reportedly been sold this season for the reason above.
Anyway, Clayton Donaldson started the season as boss and actually Farsley were doing alright; punching above their weight more so than usual. He left, then so did senior players, and a bit of a revolving door started swinging into action. Neil Redfearn lasted three weeks in the gig; packed it in last Thursday, so the Celts 'hosted' Needham Market with no real management team and a helluva lot of kids being forced to step up.
The chairman still owns the club and the land - but stepping back and allowing the board to run things will hopefully give some stability. As for Stockdale, he's already had a bit of a time of it as manager of Blyth. So he should know the state of affairs he's coming into.
