Wrexham tickets

Reminder for those going that there’s no ticket sales on the day and no collections on the day https://x.com/stevenagefc/status/1883806130511765950?s=46

This comes across as incredibly tinpot and non league by Wrexham. I know they’re being bankrolled by 2 overrated Hollywood actors but clubs who don’t allow ticket purchases on the day and make it harder for away fans are completely missing the point of who football is for. It’s for the fans.

Barnsley done it great on Saturday could just rock up at the turnstiles and get a ticket, how it should be.

My guess would be that they're trying to avoid home fans in the away end.

Wrexham's average gate suggests that the home stands are fully sold for most games.

Almost certainly a safety advisory group demand with home tickets selling out much of the time.

They want to make it difficult/impossible for home fans to secure spaces in the away end for obvious reasons.

I'd think they've shrunk the away end as much as they can to maximise home sales too.

Sure make it all ticket but at least allow people to collect tickets on the day. Not everyone lives in close proximity to Stevenage to collect their tickets.

It’s tinpot. No thought for away supporters at all

But then a Wrexham local could order from us, give a moody SG1 address and collect at the stadium.

Thereby defeating segregation.

All ticket isn't unusual but usually any tickets not collected are taken up and able to collect on the day so that's a bit annoying for people who don't live near Stevenage. Perhaps no one is going so can't take the uncollected tickets up or Wrexham not willing to have a person working in a ticket office on the night!

There are always staff that take uncollected tickets to away games. This decision is on Wrexham.

The only other time I can think that this has happened in recent years was at Villa Park in the cup.

Yeah, I missed the first 15 minutes of the game, waiting in the p*ssing rain for supporters to collect their tickets!!

It was worth it though!

Spot on. I live almost an hour and a half away from Stevenage nowadays. Not selling on the day is prett unhelpful as I'm not doing 140 mile round trip to get a ticket.
