Stevenage FC add Valley site to facilities - Stevenage FC https://search.app/j42NjGVwyAnWwpUQA
Says we now manage 4 facilities, I thought we owned Shephalbury and Braggers Training ground but leased Lamex ? Re the Valley just wondering what income we expect from this , is Shephalbury always full ? That being said PW has his head screwed on so have faith in him.

Says manages rather than owns. So a lease would come under that definition for the ground and this site.

i would say that your not far from the truth.
it would be better to enter a new stadium from that side of the road direct route from the A1 M,
also more land to enlarge stadium and car parks, the council will move the school for more land
+the council could build tower blocks on each corner of the ground (bit like leyton orient but bigger).
and put a housing estate on any land left over. loads of money.

They've only just finished building a brand new school behind the old one, which is just about to start being knocked down

Yeah, don't know what the plans are for where the old school is, some extra parking for the valley 3G/boro on matchdays would help

If the land had a building on it before, it'll be redeveloped into housing or flats.

Nothing else.makes financial sense. And money is king.

Shephalbury is rip-off of the century.

£70 now for one of the small 5-a side pitches.

Not compared to other locations. There's nothing of its kind nearby, so they can charge the £70 an hour.

I don't know how the prices compare in detail, but I know Shephalbury costs a lot more to hire than The Valley, Marriotts, Nobel etc, which is why all the football clubs use the others ones and not Shephalbury.

As my son trains at the Valley, I hope it doesn't mean the costs will go up for the club 😄

But also, had been told previously that the Valley 3G doesn't meet the FA standards now and needed replacing, so it's possible the previous owners didn't have the cash to do it, hence the club getting involved with the aim of making a longer term profit
