I've never been a 'Revs In' kind of guy, I made that pretty clear when he was reappointed and through the beginning of the season.
However, being realistic, I'm now torn on this. Yes, we're not the most exciting team to watch, especially away from home. However, for a club the size of ours, to be comfortably mid table is actually a great achievement and we should be proud of that.
On average attendances, we're 23rd in L1 and I'd imagine we'd be fairly low in L2 as well, yet on the pitch we're punching and we should embrace this.
So now I'm a 'Rev's not in, but not out either' kind of guy.
And my pre season bet on us going down looks really silly now!

I think Chuds has had the numbers to prove that whilst our attendances this year are poor for League One, they're still good for Stevenage Football Club.
I think some of the frustration at Revs over attendances should be aimed at the good people of Stevenage - putting down roots in a town where a huge chunk of the population has only been here for two generations at most is tough.
Southend are midtable in the National League and had 6,800 show up to a 0-0 with Hartlepool, for example.

? Strictly correct but imo really a lot of old Athletic fans continued to follow Boro in me , was 9 when Athletic folded .That being said. We will only get complete Prem L converts by being successful

In reality, no-one will 'convert' from their Prem team - they will still follow that team on tv and get all the merchandise, and tell people that's who they support when people ask them, as it means they can have a conversation.
But the more people we can also get coming to our games too and buying our gear too, the better. I see it happening more and more. The school voucher and football team stuff has been brilliant.
My son loves coming to Boro, always asks when we're next going, checks out the table and our fixtures and knows all the teams positions in League 1 etc.
But as soon as any person asks him what football team he supports he says Arsenal, because it's just expected he has a Prem team, and they do, and they can talk about top level footballers.
I then have to pretend I'm David Beckham talking to Victoria, and point out 'be honest, tell them who you REALLY support'...

I supported Leeds and my daughter supported Arsenal when we first started attending 16 years ago.
Now neither of us could give more than a passing hoot about them. A view we formed within a year or so at most.
I'm sure we are not that unusual.

This is the same as me. I'd had a season ticket at Leeds for 10 seasons straight before I moved to Stevenage for a new job in 2017.
7 years later, I'm now on my 5th season ticket and 7th year watching the Boro and when people ask who I support, I say Stevenage.
If they can't chat about football below the PL/Championship then that's their problem

No, you are not that unusual.
We were West Ham season ticket holders for many years. Just happened to get invited to Boro by a workmate. West Ham were then consigned to history.
What grabbed me was the family atmosphere, the raw nature of the football which the players bought into. It was telling they were playing for the love of the game....it really showed!

Why is he expected to though to support a PL team,? Genuine question by the way and not criticising your Son or kids in general . Wonder if all smallish clubs like us eg Crawley youngsters have to support a bigger club as it's expected .

Re: Is this the most boring Boro team ever?

Because it's everywhere in the media (normal and social), news, games, FPL etc. You can always start up a conversation about the premier league and someone has a view.
As soon as someone asks and I say 'Stevenage', I only ever get 2 more questions:
1) no, but who's your real team
2) oh, how they doing this season?
That's it, they then don't know anything else to continue on a conversation.
So kids starting out at school feel like they need to have a Prem team so that they're not set out as different or not able to get involved.
As I say, it's improving, lots of his mates go to games when their school gets the voucher, and they are interested, but you won't stop 99% of them also having a prem team at primary school
Even worse, most of them also have Real Madrid, Messi LA Galaxy all manner of other kits and affiliations too, to look cool

Boring is better than relegation.
We are putting in some good defensive performances and should take pride in that, as well as our league position.
We have something to build on, and I'm sure we'll strengthen in January.

Don't see many of these "idiots" at the Boro TBF. For sure we have some enthusiastic younger fans, who IMO are almost all very well behaved. (I'd be surprised if many of the older fans didn't go through the wannabe 'Top Boy' phase at some point!) Although I'm not really sure why I've just brought younger fans into this discussion, as it's primarily *older* folks who can't behave around booze.
And on rugby, never known a bunch who behave so badly around alcohol! I'm no fan.

Enjoyed the first half. Mostly in their half, good passing, attacking intent. Simpson was a handful. Reverted to a bit boring in second half but Lincoln were always going to come out better than the the first half performance.
Obviously still struggling to score but clean sheet and point away from home generally take that. Burton at home would be disappointed with anything other than a win.

To steal my post from X and pose the hypothetical question in this thread also...
Peterborough have scored 23 more goals than us this season. However, they have also conceded 26 more goals, are six points and six places below us in the table, and we have a game in hand on them.
Would you swap places with them?
It's a no for me.

I’d rather watch next door’s dog having a dump than Revellball. But it’s all about opinions and supply and demand. If people are happy to part with their hard-earned to watch that week in week out then fair enough. For all I know Wallace might love watching it. Perhaps he’s not even bothered that attendances are dwindling. There will always be a hardcore who aren’t bothered about entertainment. Trouble is when the hardcore is only 2,000 fans and the floating fans have gone because they are bored shitless then finances will suffer.

Goal scoring is a problem. Has been for ages now.
It will end up costing Revell his job and his reputation if he cant solve it because the fanbase will turn. Especially if we cant improve our goal return at home.
That said 0-0 away from home is almost always a good result. I'm more than happy with the point. I'd have preferred a 2-2 maybe but i shall not be complaining.

It's a fair point. Chances were there today. But outside the chances, Reid had an opportunity to get a shot away, List the other side doesn't attack the box one on one to get a shot away. Must be very very frustrating for a coach to watch these opportunities literally go begging. I'm not sure what you do to coach two players to actually go on and have a shot.

13 clean sheets in 23 games (Cooper has 13 from 20 games and had conceded just 11 times), it's brilliantly nuts.

We have a superb defence, and I can't help thinking that with a little bit more nous, and fewer square pegs in round holes, we would be in the top six now.
