Avoid the Dartford crossing. QE2 bridge is closed.

So annoying as the perfect weather conditions for our aimless non-threatening grimball where even the shortest of hoofs would have ended up on the M23. God help us if it’s a nice day for the rearranged game

I broke an umbrella in the storm today. Probably for the best it’s called off. Someone could die.

FA to investigate Crawley match cancellation.

I think this would be a good thing. But they probably won’t.

Yes. I don’t believe there was damage to the stadium during the storm, and the pitch would have been fine with the level of rain we’ve had around these parts.
I don’t really understand why they called it off originally.

The east stand is a temporary stand, the fan zone has temporary structures such as gazebos, and some of their players would have struggled to get in.
Point 2 and 3 there are ridiculous. A match should not be called off because of gazebos in a fan zone outside the ground, and players should be able to make the match, and if they cannot you should have to play others instead.

We've potentially missed out on a flying gazebo pole impaling someone á la The Omen, or less likely, a Tyreece Simpson goal.

There are stronger winds where I am than in Crawley and the Gainsborough game is currently still on.
The general manager let slip that some of their players might struggle to get to the game so clearly they've called it off as didn't want to have a weakened team against an in form Boro.

Fine incoming for Crawley. Isn’t it up to the Ref to call it off?

Safety advisory group no doubt. Iffy transport and roads network.

It was only called off because they was worried about the stand with the temporary talapiring on it. Nothing to do with the weather it's self

Oh.
Why did they put talapiring on it in the first place?
I'd have used tarpaulin.

Could they not have made this decision yesterday? What new information did they have this morning that they didn't already have yesterday?

We decided not to test the M25 to drive to Henley this morning.
We could've made the decision yesterday but we wanted our elderly aunt who lives all alone to have another night of joyful anticipation of a visitor before cruelly dashing her spirit at 8am.
Because we care.

Probably firmer information about direction and speed of gusts plus damage already sustained. Decision made before most people would've set off.

Wonder if the game will be in doubt with the wind? It's not the most sheltered of grounds.
