Good to see Cooper continue, Nathan and Pidge at CB and Luther/Butler at FB.
A solid base.
Louis and Roberts both start, Roberts owes us a good 90 minutes, its gonna be feisty and he needs to control his aggressive side.

On the way out of the stadium this seemed to be the general conversation among the fans.
They were also saying that was the most boring game of football ever played. How can we play as bad as an extremely poor Leyton Orient?

We can thank the opposition for that though as we have failed to score in 7 of our league games. Also I note in the league we have only scored more than one goal in a game once.
And 5 of our 6 wins (in all comps) have been 1-0. I was OK with that.
Wycombe have scored more than 3 times the number of goals we have and we're only at the 15/16 game stage. Wycombe who are probably on a similar budget.

If Reid was missing 5 chances a game then you could criticise him, but he hasn't even had a chance to shoot or anything created for him whatsoever. And he's not a Ronaldo or Messi who can just create a goal from nothing.
So Reid is an unknown. I've no idea how good he is because he doesn't get the opportunity to be a striker.

As you rightly say Reid just isn't getting the service, none of our strikers do! Always lumped forward hoping for Pidge to head goalwards...rarely does he score nowadays. When Reid does get a chance to score as from that little pass Kemp made on the edge of the area, first half, he fumbles and ties his legs in a knot.
That's not really Reid's fault, he was probably in shock that he had an opportunity. He just doesn't get many chances.

Iād say arguably a lot of his goals for us have come from half chances. That said, the service at present is definitely not there and he has been shoved on to a wing at times as well.
I do think our fans need to temper their expectations of him based on half a good season however, especially as heās been out with a pretty serious medical issue too.

That is clearly why our midfield create nothing for our forwards to miss.
I don't do stats, my brain is wired wrong, but from the looks and sounds of it, not only do we not score, we also create fewer chances than almost any team in the EFL.

The board needs to be proactive rather than reactive.
We can see that the style hasn't changed. There are no signs of anything changing. We cannot create anything or score many goals.
We don't need to wait until we are in the relegation zone to make a positive change. We do it whilst we are still in a better position than a lot of the other sides.
The trouble is all the sides below us know they have to improve and will, whereas we will keep plodding along saying there's 4 teams below us until it's too late.

No the board should start looking for a suitable replacement now, and if there is one that is really good, then yes replace him.
If not, which is probably more likely, we see what happens in two winnable games against Northampton and Crawley. If we win them or get 4 points and there are signs of having learnt something and not just doing exactly the same thing every game, then we give him more time and go from there.

Transformed us and then watched it massively start to unravel, fell out with half the squad, oversaw a similar level of inability to score as we are currently seeing and saw us go five winless in the league (as we currently are under Revs) on three separate occasions, whilst bringing bullshit antics every game on the touchline and missing SEVEN matches in one season through suspension.
Please let us not forget all of that and pretend it was all wonderful under him and he would be great again, just like the final six months of his spell and the entirety of this season so far for him (I reiterate for all those moaning about Revs and saying we are going down, but wanting Evans back, we are above Evans).

Like Deltic, I'm ambivalent about Evans 2.0. I'm well aware of all the baggage. But I would take it any day rather than the dross being served up currently. Evans over Revell definitely, though I'm aware that's a low bar.
Back in the even worse old days I once travelled nearly 1000 miles without seeing us score a goal. I don't do the journeys like I used to, but I can see those days returning. We just don't do goals any more.
We built up some real momentum in the past two seasons, not least in the level of support, but it is disappearing. The less committed will vote with their feet, and it is all so bloody unnecessary.
We have a really good squad and, I suspect, our highest ever wage bill. Don't let it go to waste. Revs out. Now.

Re: MATCH FRED
Views: 607
Every club in the EFL will have their highest ever wage bill, so that alone is not reason to say we should be doing our best ever, all wages have shot up because of the new deal.
FWIW, did I want Revs as manager again in the summer? No. Do I believe he will push us on? No. Do I think we will go down this season? Absolutely not. Do I think he should be sacked now? No. We of course do not know exactly his remit, so don't know how he is performing against this.
Not that long ago we won ten points from five games and 13pts from seven games under Revs, including wins against Barnsley, Charlton, Wrexham and Mansfield. That was/is promotion form. But people were not saying that would last. By the same token nor should people be saying the current form will last. A season has rises and falls, that is football. Revs also has the most wins from their opening ten home games in League One of any manager we have ever had, and home games is where we make our money.
Revs has shown that he and this squad can win, and can beat the bigger/better sides. We are also in the FA Cup Second Round and qualified through the FLT group. So you could very much argue the season is going fairly well OVERALL so far, looking as a whole and not just the past month or so.
None of that is reason to sack him right now, he deserves longer to show he can get us back winning again. However, he is going to have to amend his approach if he wants much longer, because the style and lack of goals will lead to crowds falling, and that is when the board will take real notice (unless we drop into the drop zone prior to that). Playing one up front, creating very little and not really at any stage looking like we properly went for the win (despite being the more attacking of the two) at home to a very poor side, at home, is not going to do him any favours, and if it continues and he is let go, he can only have himself to blame.

Comfortably is 7-10 points clear in my book. I fear we'll be closer to the drop zone than that for much of the remainder of the season.
Comfortably is 3 places clear of the drop. Are we really consistently better than 6 or so teams? Recent performances would suggest different and neither can be put down to a blip. [I accept we can beat some good teams too]
And of course what Phil said in Saturday's programme notes doesn't reflect precisely what he said to Revs. But he's been pretty consistent in saying he expects a challenge, and he'd be foolish to tell us all one thing whilst telling Revs he will (reluctantly) accept way less as the minimum.

Funny how the memory plays tricks on you. In early February we were up to fifth in the table, having won three games in a row (including back to back away wins at Shrewsbury and Wigan).
After that we fell away, although we ended Feb with successive home victories. We had a poor January transfer window and subsequently the Vadaine Oliver experiment, Caskey's injury and Pidge's suspension put paid to the play offs.
I'm not making a case to reappoint Evans. But let's have it right. Overall it was a bloody brilliant season.

If Evans hadn't have got promotion the previous season and had such a good first half of the season then we would be calling for him to be sacked too, because it was crap from February. But one would give Evans the benefit of the doubt and that if he had stayed he would have rebuilt in the summer.

I didn't say Evans was amazing, though the rest of his time here buys him some credit for the final third of last season.
Revs has no credit in the bank (in fact he owes us from his first spell) and a better squad to work with.
Comparing the two purely on that 16 game basis is pointless. As I've said before, I am not advocating Evans' return.
But Revs continues to prove that he is simply not up to it, and it is damaging.

I disagree.
And don't see how comparing somebody you want sacked for their form versus somebody you claimed we are misremembering the end of and therefore suggesting they were still doing well at the end, is pointless.
Also, constantly saying it is our best ever squad doesn't matter when almost every other squad in the division is much better than previous years too.
But whatever, you (and many others who didn't want him) aren't ever going to change your mind on him, so we should just get it out of the way and sack him now, then get relegated when we cannot attract anybody remotely good, and who wants a mass turnover of staff and players, and all costs us loads of money in the process. BLEURGH.

Damn you, I was just editing and you replied!
What I was saying is that I was of course partly joking with the final point to be a little tinker, but that it is a genuine concern also.
Which isn't to say we just stick with Revs in case we cannot find better, but I fully maintain it is too soon and our season overall is not bad, for him to be sacked now. See where we are in Xmas as the earliest consideration, and see whether he has got us scoring and got us winning again.
I was setting straight your setting the record of Evans straight - that his ending (and 16 games is a third of a season) is actually worse than Revs' this season, so either Evans should have been sacked prior to leaving, or Revs shouldn't be sacked based on form this season ;).
And there is no rose tinting, as I said above, I didn't want Revs and don't believe he will take us forwards, but that doesn't mean he should be sacked right now IMO, he deserves more time. Since we got our actual defenders back we have shored up at the back again and are unbeaten. Now that is sorted, to work on the goals again.
Edit: To correct a couple of typos.

Ha. You may have a point about the timing. I would be more optimistic if Revs gave me a glimmer of hope that he appreciates the problem and has some kind of plan to fix it.
