Positives
Cracking opening goal for us.
Tyreece Simpson had a good 10 minutes at the end of the game. Some good close control.
NT got some minutes in.
And we're through, so we've made a few quid and no-one is calling for Revs to be sacked.

Things won't improve until he is. Revball is almost goal free.
And if Simpson is the answer there is something wrong with the question.

Shouldn’t be referred to as ‘Revellball’. Guffball or Shiteball more appropriate

"...so we've made a few quid".
A whopping £5k for tonight. We will only make any more if we win in R2.
Edit: The triple substitution changed the match. Best Aboh has looked (albeit on not many minutes) plus a tidy penalty to go with it, and Kemp is really starting to look the player we hoped we had signed now, with his all round play as well as three goals in his last four games (plus two penalties in shootouts).

Funny what happens when you play a player in their preferred position!

Revs addressed that in a recent interview, said we signed him to play #10 but have not been able to do so much up until recently.
Edit: Reminds me of when Dino came into the bar after a game, asked if we had any questions, to which I questioned why Guthrie was being played out wide instead of his preferred and best position of in the middle. He said that Guthrie preferred playing wide. Shortly afterwards Guthrie played central, in the FLT funnily enough, he scored a hattrick and in his post-match interview he said that central is his favourite position to play.

Poor performance. We could keep any pressure up. Overhit so many passes.

So from what I can gather there was literally nothing on the line in that shootout? That really takes some doing.

Yes seems Gillingham did not go through too , so why have a shootout . Interestingly only Villa through from U21s

Because it is the competition rules. You cannot pick and choose which to follow.

Don't you get an extra point for winning the shootout. So not pointless...

Always good to practice.
Look at the confidence it had given the England squad under Sir Gareth of Southgate

I disagree. It is useful for separating sides in the group stage.
Also a good chance to practice penalties.

It would be useful to practice taking penalties in front of fans, but we're talking about the EFL Trophy group stages.
