We had a really good first half. The second half we were poor and they were all over us .. they should have scored at least 3, we were lucky to escape with a draw at the end.
We need to be more consistent for 90 mins.

No Revel changed the shape and told them to sit back at 75 minutes. Exactly the same as the Guisely game. With exactly the same result

2 points dropped. Revs has to go!

So I heard people saying. Some also said this;
After a decent first half, all the hard work was undone by a stream of clueless tactics. Revs is still out of his depth.

2 points dropped for Reading for me,our keeper got us a point to day.we came out second half and sat back hoping to hang on to a 1-0 lead yet again.Revels subs was to late in the game to bring on.A piss poor second half again with no fire power up from.

Avoided losing 4 in a row, at least.
Next 4 games against teams currently below us (albeit not much of a points difference), so you'd hope to pick up more than the 1 from 12 we've got from the last 4.
Edit: I have heard some people saying it might be a good time to appoint a new manager with a break next week and an easier run of games on paper for a new manager to come in and turn things around, but that's not me.

Not sure why Young is so out of favour? Looks our best forward option, when played in the right position.

Who'd have thought when we had actual CBs (including a RCB) back we would look solid like we did for the opening eleven games before they were all unavilable, and would be picking up a result?

There seems to be some negativity in this thread. I’d like to offer a different perspective. I think today went far, far better than I had expected. Great to see proper quality back in Pidge and NT - it showed too - and Phillips put in a superb performance in the first half and a solidly competent one in the second. Revs clearly knew what was needed and acted on it - the team came out pumped up for that first half and produced a performance noticeably hungrier and more energetic than seen for a long time. I thought some real desire was on display, especially from Kemp who ran his arse off all game, chased down every ball even into injury time, and tallied a well-deserved goal. I had a lot more confidence that the team and Revs knew what had to be done.
Sadly, the second half was slightly off the pace and accuracy of the first half, and as Reading came at us repeatedly it was clear we were going to concede unless the astounding Cooper kept us in it. We could hardly claim their goal was unexpected. The annoying thing about it was that we could have stopped that build-up play all the way through, from Reid lazily failing to challenge at the halfway line to the final pass back at the by-line, so the team can’t complain that they scored, but very frustrating for us fans.
All in all a transformation from previous games and if you’d offered me 1-1 before the match I’d have taken it. Let’s hope that level of confidence and enthusiasm continues into the next match.

I do think a large part of the second half and them coming at us (along with them needing a goal) was tiredness.
A lot of those players have played a lot of minutes recently out if necessity, and a number were making their first appearance after a while out of playing and training through injury. Pidge really looked to be struggling on about 70 minutes for instance, as had NT been for a while. But we didn't have any options on the bench to change it up for many of them so had to stick with it.
I was disappointed we didn't hang on but was perfectly happy with the performance and desire on show. Pidge, NT and Phillips being back made all the difference. And we now have a fortnight until out next league match for them to get fully back to fitness, then we have three very winnable games against Orient, Northampton and Crawley. If they go well, we will be nicely settled in midtable again and looking forwards, with even more players nearing a return from injury.

Agreed. The tiredness was almost certainly contributed to by the energy expended in the first half, which is another reason why today’s performance pleased me.

Like you I thought it was.much better than expected. I did think Rev's should have made a.change in midfield earlier to provide more energy, still might not have been enough but may have given us a bit more protection and drive going forwards.
Most if not all around me clapped the team off at half time. I wonder what the roverall reaction would have been if the two half's were reversed...a lot of fans seem to judges game on the last 20 minutes rather than the 90 minutes.

I think the shitarsedness of our recent form has made people happy to slurp down some pretty thin gruel. Being able to field something resembling a proper back four probably rescued us from another tonking. Phillips will run through a brick wall for you to pass the ball five yards to an opposition player.
