Revs clearly knows exactly what the problem is, creating and taking chances.
He didn't gloss over it.
He talked about the No.9 needing to look after the ball and create things.
Recognising where the problem is, is half the battle.
I know it's not fashionable, but a good old.fashioned 442 anybody?

442 was clearly needed halfway through the Cambridge game. We need to stop sticking either Young or Reid out on the left to try and get them in both in the team. If we want to do that we need to go 442.
'' He talked about the No.9 needing to look after the ball and create things''
He might well talk about that, but the service they get is atrocious at present. Reid doesn't want to be having balls fired into his head to try and hold up the play. He just isn't a target man kind of forward. Neither is Young. They'll both thrive if we start playing balls into their feet or for them to run on to.

You don't have to be genius to work out what the problem is – ie, I know for certain when I'm skint; whether I know how to fix it is another matter. The manner of the next two performances will be crucial if Revs is to quell the restless natives. Does he have a plan B, or C? By the way, second goal yesterday was absolutely down to Kane Smith. How on earth did he allow the guy to get a clean shot away when he is within two yards?

Five of them managed it against Cambridge the other night.

We should have gone to a 4-4-2 against Cambridge on Tuesday. The players to do so were in the starting 11. If Revs is adamant that Reid and Young start every game then we need to play with two strikers not just shove one onto a wing where they simply don’t work.
The acid test, if he really does know what the issue is, is whether he can fix it.

Only Swansea and Tranmere have scored fewer goals in the whole EFL, both on eight versus our nine.
We have only ever scored fewer goals in the EFL once, in the 2020/21 season, when we had eight at this stage.

As I said earlier in the season, I think mentioned on the commentary v Cambridge our touches in the opposition box is right down the bottom of the pile as well. We either lump it long to no one or when we try and play just panic when when get in the final third.
The midfielder 3 on Saturday of Phillips, White and King offered absolutely zero. I used to rate White, but he isn't doing enough of what he should be good at. His/ the teams set piece intelligence is also so poor at the moment. They seem to be stuck to a rigid plan with these and seem unable/ unallowed to think outside the box.

Midfield wise then should we play Thompson L, Kemp , Phillips with Roberts with free role , don't know answer but we definitely miss JFC.

Our defence will see us ok.
But it needs to be prettier or at least carry positive tension - late winners, even spawny undeserved ones help... a lot.

Our defence can defend, but apart from Kane Smith's crossing (which is decent), offer so little as a basis to start attacks. That's a massive part of why we create so little.
