Damn. Sad news.
First spoke to him walking g across the cow field after a win at Cambridge a good few years ago.
A proper gent, a big voice and a larger than life character.
Rest easy Bob.

Very sad news to read, a very big character around the club since as long as I can remember, will be a loss. Was also very active with Lytton Players as well I believe and a big part of that also.
Rest in Peace

Really sad news, he was posting here until very recently. Who is going to replace that big booming voice near Steve and Deano on the radio?
RIP Bob.

Sad times:(
A good egg, was our Bob. He (and his wife) were really lovely, friendly, people, who always had a smile.
Shared some good chats with him down the years, and of course a couple of pints down his favourite pub.
Almost fitting that his final match (that he listened to) was us losing at home!

So, so sad. Until Barbara and I moved to Spain we went to nearly every home and away games together. Such great memories of far flung places from yonder days. Many a pint supped, we were only chatting last Tuesday evening during the game. Sleep well my friend and RIP. Derek & Barbara

I’m in Canada right now and just seeing this news. Absolutely terrible - I’ve known the guy nearly 50 years and was just speaking to him outside the ground a couple of weeks back. Despite his various health issues, this feels like a real shock. Hopefully he and East Coast Boro will resume their football chats now and watch Boro together from above.
RIP Bob. Love to all the family.

Met him once when I sat next to him at THAT match at Kiddy. Even though several years ago, I do recall what a nice bloke he was.
RIP Bob.

Just thinking about the time we went to Eastbourne dressed up as old women and men.
And Bob turned up at the station in a full witches costume with hat 😭😭😭

He once went to work in London, c.1986, dressed as ‘Middlesex’ - half man half woman - for a charity fundraise. The other commuters on Stevenage platform were most bemused. He was always up for some fun.

From what has been said about him, I wished I had known more about him. Always on the forum with something valuable to impart, and as someone who has over the years has given my two penny worth I am sad that his five bob will not see the likes of again. Thank you.
