Who would we have?
Just seen this from Port Vale and was wondering who we would have as a statue? And where would it go?
Gittings?
Pidge?
Robbo?
GW or Steve Evans?
Mr Wallace?
Jack Jebb?
Is no one deserving yet?

It'd be a shit statue anyway.
We couldn't afford a decent sculptor.

It's a can of worms. If you do a statue of this player, then people will start calling for a statue of that player. Then you get into a mess of comparing apples with oranges in terms of eras and achievements.
Jim Briscoe and Phil Wallace are two figures I'd argue weren't that contentious for impact on the club.
GW is a fair shout, but Cloughie won four titles in six years and SHOULD have led us into the Football League.
Let's just have the following:
1. A running GW at the entrance to the car park to mark the time he ran from WGC for a game
2. Ashley Bayes banging a drum in the middle of the ET (as someone else suggested)
3. Steve Watson on all fours in the centre circle (could be tricky to get EFL approval for that)
4. Giuliano Grazioli running along the touchline arms stretched wide

Lest you forget Jason Solomon with his trackies round his ankles trying to kick a ball?

Teddy.
So PW can be reminded continuously what a huge mistake it was getting rid of GW for him.

Westley 100%.
Or name a stand after him at the very least.

Can you imagine Westley's ego if we named a stand after him. A statue would be even worse...

He could have one stand for every spell he had as manager.

And he'd be half the cost of an Evans statue.

There's at least one figure more deserving of a stand being named after them, but it's a path already trodden.
And I daresay it would stand in the way of monetising the stadium through sponsorship. Buildbase are getting a lot of brand recognition in my head, even though I don't think they've sponsored the South Stand for about 10 years.

Jim Briscoe.
Alternatively, Blackpool Winter Gardens has a statue of Morecambe and Wise…….this must pave the way for one of Thompson and Watkins?

You obviously meant to say “Watkins and Thompson”.

Not at all Steve…..you being second is the equivalent of being “Wise”
I don’t think “Deano” and “Wise” should ever be used in the same sentence 😂

Probably Paulio. He has done more for the club than any player or manager.

Gittings and Ronnie the most obvious.
Never saw the former play, and never really viewed the latter as a legend in the same way I do other players, but I don't see how anybody else could get in ahead of the top scorer and top appearance-maker.
