Starts for Northern Ireland tonight.
Regarding his injury, just been shown this so as it's now in the public domain we can reveal what his medical issue was that kept him out:

Feels a long time ago doesn't it?
I told you what his issue was at that castle in Jersey in the blazing sunshine and warmth. Now it is freezing cold, dark, rainy and frankly, utter shit.

Just looked at the live updates on BBC. Doesn’t sound as though this will have done anything for BGR’s confidence. It seems that he missed (or had saved) several gilt-edged chances before being subbed on 76 mins.

He’s basically using international football as his pre-season for us. Excellent.

I read it differently… sounds like there were a couple of good saves, and sounds like he was a handful

I read it as 6 attempts on goal with several saves to deny. Cant comment if these were fluffs or not, but does suggest he’s either in the right place at the right time or creating opportunities. I take this as positive steps forward to fitness and form

Yep, just read the report and it does make it appear more positive than the live updates which definitely came over more negative.

I half watched it last night. He probably should have had a couple of goals. His movement looked really good. One time he bent his run so well to beat the offside trap. Just needs to get some sharpness in front of goal

As I said before then really surprised no one came in for him in summer Unless the injury out them off

I'm not, he missed a lot of chances last season, the same as last night.
Perhaps if he cleared the 30 goal mark last season then he would've been worth a punt for another team.

Unfortunately this is not an uncommon occurrence for Boro strikers at the moment
