On a related note, would be intriguing to pitch a Boro' Football League XI against a Boro' Non-League XI.

I think the non-league side would take it... mainly because I'd play Hayles, Alford, Morison and Gittings up top in an incredibly attacking formation.

Swap Morison for Harvey as you can't have Alford without Harvey and put Hayles in "midfield". Problem sorted.

Don’t know if Pidge and McAnuff would be the best centre mid partnership.

Broadly agree with this line up though, not sure McAnuff would make the cut for me but would need to think more on who I’d have in his place. Day is ahead of Taye for now too.
