Rumour mill - Jake Young
Views: 2730
Sky reporting that we've put a late bid in along with a few other clubs including Crawley and Fleetwood.
Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas:
Bradford striker Jake Young is attracting late interest from Championship clubs.
League One sides Crawley and Stevenage have already had bids accepted but other clubs are now making enquiries with three days to go.

Being reported he's signing for us. Could be a club record as well?
Look forward to his link up with Kemp if true!

The Bradford Neal Metcalfe Comet equivalent still thinks we are keen and is a (slim) possibility.

If not him, fingers crossed we are seriously looking for another quality striker.

Unless there are issues with Reidy or Pressley in their respective recoveries we have enough strikers at the club.

Unfortunately the strikers on the books dont score goals, apart from Reid.

I don’t think people realise how rare regularly goalscoring strikers are. Reid did well last season but that could well have been a purple patch.
Hopefully he comes back and starts putting them away again, but a lot of our fans seem to think he’s Pele all of a sudden.

We all know the only Boro player worthy of the Pele moniker is Boydy

Can't see Pressley playing a lot before January given the surgery.
A new striker might not be urgently needed but it's worth going for if it's the right player who can improve the team and fits within the clubs financial structure.
Josh March made way to accommodate for Kane Hemmings on deadline day last season for example.

If it’s not a gilt edged, guaranteed to be prolific addition then it’s not worth another body in the building. The squad is big enough as it is.

Yep. But as I said on a recent thread about the same topic, the manager should know more about how long Reid and Pressley will be out than we do.

With the greatest of respect and love for BGR, his 2024 hasn't been brilliant and he's coming back from injury – so any buying club will be taking a bit of a punt.
If he comes back and scores 20 before Christmas, we'll be having a very different conversation in January.
