What are you having for tea this evening?
I've got chicken soup and 2 slices of bread with butter.
Pudding, I haven't decided yet.

Vegetable stirfry with Quorn chicken.
Today will be veggie curry, with rice, poppadoms, bhajis, samosas and garlic naan, plus a beer or two for the footy.

‘Quorn chicken’ . If vegetarians dislike eating meat for whatever reason then fair enough but why eat plant/genetically modified products or whatever that are imitating the meat version?

Why not?
Edit: Gives a protein source, gives a different texture to the veg etc. without requiring an innocent animal to be killed. Many vegetarians (such as myself) do so for the sake of animal welfare (or environmental reasons), nothing to do with disliking the taste of meat, so if there could be something that entirely replicated the taste and texture of meat without being meat that would be perfect. No reason not to eat alternatives. And even though some can be heavily processed, it is no less healthy than a lot of processed meat products, and is eaten in moderation.

Although they deny it, they've definitely changed the recipe of the Quorn pieces and mince in recent years. IMO it doesn't cook like it used to.....

I'm not sure, I don't have either. We tend to have Quorn fillets rather than pieces, for which I haven't noticed any difference, and Plant Pioneers mince.

I'll give that mince a go, not tried it.

Much prefer it to Quorn, and it is pretty cheap as a bonus.
This Isn't and Richmond are probably the most realistic to actual mince in terms of texture and holding their form when cooked, but are more expensive and in the case of Richmond I feel a bit weird buying from a company who has made its fortune from selling meat.

The Linda McCartney and Meatless Farm ranges are also pretty good and comparatively priced to Quorn.

Yep, agree with that.
Plenty of good options nowadays, even stuff like Aldi own brand do some good stuff.
I am hungry!

I actually miss Quorn "chicken". Can't find it out here and the equivalent is crap.
My meat intake was down to 1-2 portions a week max before I moved.
France is about 10 years behind the UK when it comes to vegetarian options in supermarkets. Many smaller supermarkets have zero stock. The hypermarkets have one meat substitute section, 12" wide, a max of 6 meal options, 3 of which are faux meatballs.

I had a similar monday too, smashed the kids and nephew at Bockey in Winterton with some of the brightly coloured 5 quid jobbies from Asda. How do the French feel if you play with those rather than the silver metal ones?
Then had a slap up fish and chips 👍

The half decent locals play for money sometimes quite big money.
They tend to ignore the immigrant idiots for games, whatever colour our balls.

One mouthful is too much steak, pork, chicken and charcuterie.
Plus salad, wine and coffee, for that matter.

Just beer, bread and cheese then for you.
I could survive on that too. 3 of my favourite food groups.
As long as the cheese isn't vegan that stuff is pretty rank.

Doesn't have to.
I had a gorgeous banana and chocolate muffin (and biscoff slice) from the vegan cafe in da Wade last week, and they do lovely cakes and doughnuts and stuff too.

Northerners call it tea. I call it dinner, unless I've had dinner at lunch, like on a Sunday, then it's tea in the evening because it's not a hot meal.
Lots of northerners eat their dinner at lunch for some reason instead of their lunch.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
What's the consensus on here?
