Butler doesn't look match sharp having missed almost the entirety of pre-season, and Norwich seem to have cottoned on and are now targeting us down that side.
Very content with that half though, matched them in almost all respects, look very threatening going forwards, both from open play and especially set-pieces.
Edit: Good numbers here in the away block too.

I saw nothing of the game and so far none of the highlights. But at half time I checked LiveScore and was pleasantly surprised to see we were at 2-2, and that the new boys were scoring. But what felt good was seeing us at 2-2 and realising what a strong bench we had at that point - pretty much a full first team could be called upon as back-up with LJW, Sweeney, List, Phillips et al in reserve. That felt like we had a very strong team and were matching Norwich well, so I was pleased. Pity about the final score, but losing 4-3 away at Norwich is no shame.

Overall I thought it was a useful run out. A fair few positives in there alongside the defensive issues.
Won't do us any harm going out of that early this year either.

Definitely a loss but it was the right decision to let TvC go.
He wanted to leave (now or next summer) and has signed a life-altering contract elsewhere while a very good fee has been banked with sufficient time to sign a replacement.

Did he?
Quite difficult to see in great detail down that end from a low vantage point right in the corner down the other end.
What I did notice watching the goal highlights is that Kane got caught out for both goals in the first half. Which is a shame as he otherwise played very well, particularly going forward.

There's still no world in which Sweeney is a better defender than TVC. Although it's quite strange he is now playing in the same team as his brother!

EDIT Not included Goode in equation as not seen enough of him yet .

Re: Match thread - Norwich away

Goode and Pidge are the best two centre backs at the club.
We will have to manage Goode’s fitness though and we have no left back cover for (currently far from match fit) Butler so Freestone will get plenty of minutes. He’s also an investment for the future as much as the present. He’ll pick up plenty from our other experienced players.
Sweeney will be the player we see less of once Butler is ft and if we can keep Goode fit. As a fourth option he’s a good one still.

Left footed, and Pidge ain't shifting.
Thought he did well at LB, especially hoping forward, but that was probably because rusty Butler had been rinsed all game so anything was an improvement.
