More like fake news to scare fans
This story did the rounds before the Euros too

Guess what, none of the gestapo were checking for fake shirts, and they're impossible to tell the difference anyway

I notice Wednesday have no sponsor either so a very basic shirt, buy a £10 blue and white stripe shirt and sew on a badge.

We're not big time enough for this to be an issue.
I'm liking how this is becoming an issue for all the robbing bastards who think it's acceptable to charge £60+ for a £5 piece of nylon. The fakes are very good, it's hard to tell the difference. Plus does a steward on a salary below minimum wage really care? Good luck with that.

£60. Bargain!
Get with the times.
£95 for an official replica from the Arsenal website.
£135 for an 'authentic' veraion (exactly the same.as worn by the players.
A name and number on the back will cost more.

Wait…. So the really expensive ones are not actually replicas of the ones the players wear? You’ll need the really fucking expensive ones for that.

I saw something yesterday for an England shirt with name and number was coming out at about £170. Can buy half a season ticket for that here!

My bad. Didn't see the +
Either way, at some point clubs and manufacturers will hopefully face a proper backlash and boycott. Until then prices will continue to be obscene.

I’d like to know the legal position here. What if you wear a fake shirt but it’s hidden under another layer? What if you have a zip on your outer layer: what’s the situation if *some* of the fake shirt is showing? Could you wear an official shirt but have a fake one tucked into your belt or pocket such that it hangs down to show the colours? Can a group of stewards pull you out of your seat and evict you from the ground - and would they? If you challenged this in court as no law against clothing exists, would the judge back you or would he hold that rules of the club, as a private entity, apply? Could they wear a fake shirt from a previous season? It’s a legal minefield.

Club can allow whoever they want in, and refuse entry similarly. As long as they don't contravene protected characteristic legislation (age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, disability etc)
And if they put a line in the terms and conditions of entry about not wearing snide clothes, on show or otherwise, they can eject your arse for that too, in theory. As entry is subject to terms and conditions s and by entering you agree to abide by them.
That's the legal.position.
Not that it'll ever happen. Because it would kick off, a lot.

Absolutely. It's just scare mongering from the powers that be. Fortunately, only a minority will believe them.

Agree surely if they dropped the official prices bods more key to buy than fakes .The reduced profits may be made up by increased sales
