Post here all the things you'd have done differently after not going ahead within 5 minutes of the game.
Glad Mainoo is starting.

With Guehi suspended should we switch to a back 3 with Walker RCB and TAA at RWB. Stones in the middle and whatever other CB we have in the squad at LCB. Saka could then play LWB.
Rice and Mainoo in the middle and Kane, Bellingham and Palmer up top.
It would be a complete overhaul granted, but the current system hasn't done much tho warrant sticking with it, unless they're finally getting used to it.

If Shaw is the only natural left back in the squad and isn't even fit enough to be second choice then why bring him?

He was expecting him to be available sooner but had a set back after the final squad was announced. Still, he's been training fully for a while now so might see him on if needed

I’d consider just putting walker CB and bringing TAA in at right back.
And then sending Foden home and playing any one else instead of him.

Tournament football is about progressing to the next stage, we did what we needed to for that and did it well.
Today we needed to go out and win a game of football with far superior individual players.
And they've been shit.

I don't blame Southgate for his players letting him down and doing fuck all but I do put it on him not having the balls to make subs or changes and his constant "belief" in this group etc.
Performance so far has been pathetic.

Eh?
And is conceding two goals in four games, being unbeaten and into the last eight, a bad return from the defence?
Don't know why you are targeting the defence when the midfield and strikers have created almost nothing all tournament whilst the defence has been pretty solid?
Edit: Conceded two in four games, not three.

It was a pretty woeful performance and the players just aren't reaching the levels expected of them, and don't look like a team that knows what they're doing.
But, getting through is what matters.
We can play dogshit every game if we progress to the next round for all I care. Whether on pens or 3 nil.

Someone who will run towards their goal and behind their defence, rather than someone who drops in with their back to goal. All we do is pass to feet until Pickford hoofs it.
