Says he always wanted to manage Rotherham again but praises us.
Call me spineless or a bootlicker but I actually rate him for the honesty and haven't got an issues with the timing of his decision.
This is hardly GW leaving us mid-campaign.

It is all about the grandkids.
He will be back in time to pick them up from school, play footy in the garden with them.
Then when they get married big Tony Stewart will be at the wedding.
Friends for life.
It is anyone would ever want.

Football is football. Words are words. He can shove them up his bollocks, to be quite frank.
He's made his bed, now we'll see if lying in it lives up to the promise.

I mean he's going to a club he's familiar with bigger resources than us and some championship quality players so it's not a bad bed is it...

Rotherham are hardly a big club though, it's not much of a step up.

It?s football. He?s moved on, now we need to move on.
One thing that stood out for me was, ?What I have left behind is a really good staff and really good players for the level.? Let?s see if he does leave them behind or come back for the best players and members of back room staff in the summer.

Yep.
Nothing to play for so it doesn't ruin our season, gives him and us time to do everything we need to to prepare for next season. Ideal timing really.

I'd thank him for his achievements here, but I don't care what Evans does or says now he's gone elsewhere.

I would like to see a closing interview with him at some point, just to conclude everything. As it feels like he just left suddenly with no goodbyes.
After that, he won't be relevant to us anymore but I would welcome him back when the Rotherham fans turn on him, if we need a manager at that time.

Had this thought myself. Could see him potentially coming back in 18 months.
Hopefully not to help with another L2 survival campaign...

Haha, just thought the comet might catch up with him for a few words about Stevenage and leaving rather than Rotherham and joining.

Definitely feel like this is why there?s been no burnt bridges on either side. He might be back to save us from relegation in six months if it all goes wrong for both parties.

Feels like an amicable break-up but tinged with a bit of sadness.
I can't begrudge him going to the team he loves but it's clear he still has a place for us and seems to have genuinely loved his time here.
Wish he'd stayed but glad he's left on a good note and with us in a strong position.
I can't see him poaching too many or maybe even anyone from us.
Pidge maybe but I feel like the offer, salary wise, would have to be something special for him to leave.
Taye and Reid would command fees too high for a team at our level, even a bigger club like Rotherham.
They'll head to the Championship if they leave.
Everyone else is replaceable (hopefully).

He has a solid track record of working with players he has managed before. I wouldn?t be surprised if the names most fans want to see retained here are on his shopping list. Rotherham are a big enough club to take the manager. It would be naive to think they can?t buy players from us too.

True but Rotherham are not exactly Man U ,would they be prepared or afford the transfer fess on top of the compo paid to us and I assume Richardson.
