"Watching football on TV is dogshit, it simply serves a means if unable/unwilling to go to the game as you can still watch your team. But I hate it. It is not the same. It is boring. And not just us either. So if watching that way you need to at least have entertaining stuff on show. And you feel more distanced and more disassociated from your team, so winning doesn't feel as important. I am never as into it when watching on the TV, goals for or against are mostly "meh", and my annoyance or delight pretty much ends as soon as I turn it off, as opposed to staying for some time after the final whistle if having been at the game. Part of that being the whole match-going routines we all have."

This is exactly how I've gotten to the point where I don't watch anywhere near as many games as I used to.

When you're watching the game on TV, and you're not at the game enjoying the atmosphere, you're only really left with the standard of football and, let's be real, it leaves a lot to be desired. Which is where the desire to be entertained comes in.

But I don't even think it's about being too conservative, or not taking enough risks. It's the lack of cohesion in attack. It shouldn't look like every attack is entirely random and that the players are making it up on the spot. You can be conservative in style if you're efficient in attack.

Most other teams are also playing chaos-ball, so being organized is a way to set yourself apart, in a way that doesn't require a bigger budget or even different players (necessarily). No point being well organized defensively if you're not well organized going forward.
