There will be three main reasons they would restrict or ban.

1) You only participate in their offers (price boosts, matched free bets etc.) and don't do any casual betting with them. They will restrict you from all offers, but allow you to continue to bet. Ensure you place semi-occasional normal bets with them to avoid that.
2) The markets you bet on demonstrate you know what you are doing and are only specialising in certain markets that don't get much trade, so may have better/as good knowledge as their odds-compilers/traders. Things like only betting on The Challenger Tour (second tier) in tennis and winning fairly often, or Mexican baseball, or Northern Prem football, or more niche stuff. Most of their focus will be on pricing up the main competitions within that sport, so you are a risk to them if they think you know what you are doing. Placing some "mug" bets will help with trying to not get banned with that, so putting on a stupid acca every Saturday in the Prem and EFL, that is on mainstream events and normally loses.
3) You win too much/often. Which is linked to point two really. If you only bet on stuff you know and don't do loads of accas, which bookies LOVE you to bet on, hence promoting them all the time (with each additional selection in the bet you of course reduce your chances of winning, so you will win more when you do and so it will feel like you are really winning, but wins are less frequent, and most people doing that will be down over a longer period even if kidding themselves they aren't because they remember a couple of big wins and don't realise how much all the little losses add up to).

All depends on your mentality towards it really. Most people do it for fun on a weekend, and are happy to lose a couple of quid on a big acca that could win big if it comes in, whereas I treat it as a contest to beat the bookies and as additional income, so stick to only stuff I know, aiming for regular smaller wins that add up to decent reliable profit across the year. Probably as I worked in the industry for eight years so saw it from the other side.
