They currently don’t play at their home ground as they’ve abandoned it.

This isn't strictly true. The outgoing chairman had said he was to replace the pitch over the summer with a 4G surface, claiming the Celts would only have to play away until mid-September. So, their fixtures were arranged thus for them to play away.

Then nothing happened much. The old surface was torn up and the ongoing delay in the new surface going down has been blamed on external contractors. So, there was an arrangement to play home games at Bradford Park Avenue – but that agreement came to an end for reasons I'm not all that sure about. Buxton was then positioned as the only viable alternative until they could return home.

Less than 10 season tickets have reportedly been sold this season for the reason above.

Anyway, Clayton Donaldson started the season as boss and actually Farsley were doing alright; punching above their weight more so than usual. He left, then so did senior players, and a bit of a revolving door started swinging into action. Neil Redfearn lasted three weeks in the gig; packed it in last Thursday, so the Celts 'hosted' Needham Market with no real management team and a helluva lot of kids being forced to step up.

The chairman still owns the club and the land - but stepping back and allowing the board to run things will hopefully give some stability. As for Stockdale, he's already had a bit of a time of it as manager of Blyth. So he should know the state of affairs he's coming into.
