I would be fine with it, and Simpson, if they were frees, but the fact we paid decent money for them both is very galling.

I know nowadays clubs are more likely to need to actually pay for players rather than picking up on a free, and we are always going to have to take chances on players owing to the size of our club and our attendances at this level (those refusing to come and watch us are just shooting the club in the foot) and we are never going to succeed with everyone we take a chance on, but in recent years it feels like we have started paying money a hell of a lot more often for players and many of them are not working out.

Thinking of thoae we have who we paid money for, Taye, Phillips, White and Goode (the injury very unfortunate as he was looking class) look like very solid investments, but Freestone, Simpson and Pressley look like big wastes of money. Young should be a good investment but we are very much not seeing the best out of him at present (not helped by playing out wide for some reason).
