On the flip side, had he listened to his players who were clearly very unhappy playing on an artificial pitch, and played those who were happy to do so, we may have played much better, won, and then had said cup run.

This isn't just players not fancying a game, or being lazy shits, this is players who have given very good performances for the club, not wanting to risk long-term injury based on injuries they have previously had which are worsened, or at greater risk, by playing on artificial pitches, which are widely known to increase said risk.
