Yes you can.

Plenty of case law on what you 'consent to' in terms of use of force and injury for various sports, but the basic principle is, "is the level of force and the manner of the application of that force normal and expected for the sport in question, even if outside of the rules"

So a low blow in boxing, whilst outside of the rules probably wouldn't meet the criteria for a criminal assault charge, despite technically being an assault, but a boxer biting another boxer's ear probably would cross the threshold.
