Those are awesome stats. In a sense it is unfair to compare the two – maybe better to say they are head and shoulders the most influential players of their respective eras, who have given their all for the cause week after week after week.

It is impossible to overestimate Pidge's importance now. He holds the defence together through successive injury crises, scores crucial goals and is an inspiration every time he puts on the arm band.

If I had been in charge of Birmingham's £millions Pidge would have been my first signing. It is extraordinary to me that he is playing in League One for the first time in his career. What a player.
